Bender

Dawn M. Bender, 73, born on September 30, 1945 in York, Pa. to the late Joseph and Madeline Weidemann, passed away Thursday June 25, 2019 of natural causes.
Dawn was a wonderful wife to the late Robert E. Bender, a homemaker, and she loved to make quilts for her family and friends.
Dawn was a loving and caring mother to her children.
She is survived by her eldest son Robert D. Bender of Liberty NC, his daughter Angelina M. Bender and her son King-Risan G.C. Sims. Her 2nd son, Joseph S. Bender of Kernersville, NC, his 2 sons Joseph R. Bender and Jakob S. Bender and daughter Sable M. Bender. Also, her daughter Madeline M Grimes of Eastview, KY, her son David R. Grimes II, his son Abel Grimes and daughter Rachel Grimes. Her youngest son Zachary G. Bender of Kernersville, NC and his son Matthew L. West and his daughter Chevelle Mullins.
She was also survived by her special friends Audrey Flock, Yvonne Sylvester, Linda Benson, Tina and Christopher, Lawanda and Michael Blair, Delbert Raymer and friend of over 40 plus years Janis Shomo of Tyrone, Pa.
Dawn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Robert E. Bender, 5 sisters and a brother, and her grandson Zachary Joshua Bender and step granddaughter Kristie Widener.
Our mother died exactly 3 years and 3 months after her best friend and loving husband Robert E. Bender.
A memorial service is scheduled to be held for her on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Kernersville Community House from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Delbert Raymer will be officiating. All friends and family are welcome.
