Local law enforcement authorities have arrested a Greensboro man accused of robbing two banks in Kernersville last year. According to the Kernersville Police Department, Tyrone Thomas Woods, 43, was arrested and charged with three counts of armed robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.
Woods is believed to have robbed the Piedmont Federal Savings on Pineview Drive on July 23, 2018, as well as a similar bank robbery at PNC Bank on South Main Street on October 2, 2018. For more, see the Saturday/Sunday, May 4 & 5, 2019 edition.
