Republican legislators in the N.C. General Assembly in Raleigh are back in their home districts after having approved next year’s state budget and successfully overriding a veto from the governor’s office. N.C. Senator Pete Brunstetter (R-District 31) said that much of the focus on this year’s short session was toward making adjustments to the two-year budget passed by the legislator in 2011. Late last month, both the House and Senate approved a $20.2 billion spending plan. For more information see the Thursday, July 19 edition of the Kernersville News.
