Despite Democrats’ hopes that candidate Elisabeth Motsinger could muster a strong rally to unseat four-term Republican U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx in the race for the 5th District congressional seat, Foxx once again carried the largely conservative district. Foxx won re-election to a fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives by a margin of 57.54 to 42.46 percent throughout the entire district. For more, see the Thursday, Nov. 8 edition.
