Drop-out age

The State Board of Education (SBE) has no plans to recommend that North Carolina raise its dropout age from the current age of 16 to 18-years-old. That’s the word from former Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Board of Education member and Kernersville Attorney A.L. “Buddy” Collins after the SBE heard a presentation last week on preliminary results from two school districts that launched a pilot program raising the drop-out age two years ago.
