New legislation

A bill regarding illegal immigration that was signed into law by Gov. Pat McCrory last week prompted a protest outside the governor’s mansion in Raleigh on Thursday, but lawmakers who wrote the legislation stand by what they say is an effort to protect the rule of law in N.C.
