Reported stabbing

A man was allegedly stabbed in the head on Monday, March 16 at 7:23 p.m., according to the Kernersville Police Department (KPD). Officers with the KPD said they responded to the 400 block of Dobson Street on a reported cutting. Upon arrival officers said found Jeremy Hawkins, 35, suffering from a stab wound to the head. Officers located the alleged suspect, Michael Shane Edwards, 39, and placed him under arrest for Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. Police said Hawkins was transported to Baptist Hospital and is listed in critical condition. Police said Edwards is currently being held at the Forsyth County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond.
