The Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) conducted a joint investigation with Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigation and other local/federal law enforcement agencies, including Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Kernersville Police Department, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement and the NC Department of Motor Vehicles, which led to the identification of an illegal narcotics organization based in Winston-Salem, according to a WSPD press release issued on November 20. On September 29, the investigation led to the arrests of the co-conspirators. The arrests occurred in the parking lot of 1450 Lumber Lane, Winston-Salem, the press release stated. Additionally, search warrants were executed at 625 Bridgeport Drive, 3788 Main Street, 2214 Gateway Lane, and 100 Hanes Mall Circle, all in Winston-Salem. According to police, items seized during the arrest include: an estimated $1.7 million in gold and jewelry; 10.6 kilograms of “powder” Cocaine HCL (estimated street value of $1,060,000.00); $61,677.00 in U.S. currency; three automobiles; and a 9 mm handgun.
