Power outage

About 1,600 residents in the Kernersville area of Old Greensboro Road lost power around 5 a.m. Saturday morning, according to local media outlets. The power outage reportedly occurred due to a construction crew not affiliated with Duke Energy knocked over the power pole. That is according to Randy Wheeless, Duke Energy spokesman. Duke Energy was able to restore power about an hour later.
