Road Closure

N.C. Department of Transportation contractors closed down a section of Industrial Park Drive on Wednesday, Sept. 17. Crews closed down the intersection of Industrial Park Drive and Macy Grove Road in order to merge the two roads. This is a continuous closure. Construction is slated to be complete Sunday, Sept. 28 at 5 p.m., weather permitting. This work is part of the Macy Grove Road Improvements Project that will widen and extend Macy Grove Road from Industrial Drive to Mountain Street, including a new interchange at US 421/I-40 Business. Business owners and residents of the affected areas will be allowed access to and from their homes at all times; however, through traffic must follow the signed three-mile detour route.
