Crews began removing one of two older trees yesterday, which were deemed public hazards on South Main Street. The removal is part of a project first approved in 2011 involving the cutting down of more than a dozen trees on Salisbury Street and another three on South Main Street whose varying degrees of decay posed a potential threat to motorists and pedestrians alike. For more, see the Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 edition.
