Kernersville police responded to Capital Bank, located at 1207 South Main St., in reference to a bank robbery at 12:49 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2. According to police, bank personnel reported a male subject demanded money and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of US currency. Kernersville police located and apprehended Kevin Grady Simmons, a Greensboro resident, without incident. He was charged with common law robbery and is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center
under a $10,000 secured bond. He has a preliminary court appearance on January 5. He was also served with two outstanding orders for arrest on unrelated charges.
