Lt. Governor Dan Forest

In a surprising upset in 2012, N.C. Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest defeated former State Representative Linda Coleman and became only the second Republican since 1897 to be elected as lieutenant governor in our state. This feat was accentuated by the fact that this was his first run for elected official at any level. Forest is running for a second term in November.
