Police officer benefit

A hot dog supper and auction planned for Saturday, June 18 in Walkertown will benefit a local law enforcement officer who has served the Kernersville community for more than 20 years.
Kernersville Police Lt. Rick Smith was diagnosed with bladder cancer in early 2016 and since then has been undergoing treatment, and more recently, complications that required a long hospital stay, where he remains today.
