Kernersville Police Department (KPD) Chief Scott Cunningham is cautioning residents about the dangers of leaving children, elderly and pets unattended in hot cars. “We don’t know how many adults, elderly, or pets either died or suffered injuries because of this,” Cunningham said. “In Kernersville, we have not had any deaths or injuries, but in 2015 we did respond to 15 calls involving animals in cars and nine calls involving children left in cars.”
