Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Superintendent Beverly Emory was one of several featured speakers during a “State of the Community” luncheon last month and spoke about how the district has fared over the last year and where it is headed. “We’re working on 90 percent of our third graders reading at grade level by 2020, a 90 percent graduation rate and improving achievement gaps by 2018,” Emory said.
