Police save man

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, Kernersville police responded to a male standing on the South Main Street bridge, overlooking 421, according to a Kernersville Police Department press release.
The first officer on scene walked toward the subject and attempted to engage him in conversation. The officer was able to carry on a conversation with the individual while another officer attempted to approach from the other direction. Police said the individual started climbing over the railing. Both officers rushed the subject and were able to subdue him as he was attempting to jump. There were no injuries and the subject was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
